Getting to know Firefly
Launched on April 3rd 2007, Firefly, Malaysia’s first community airline, is operated under FlyFirefly Sdn Bhd, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Malaysian Airline System Berhad. Operating out of its hub in Penang, Firefly provides new and exclusive routes to Kuantan, Kuala Terengganu, Kota Bharu and Langkawi in Malaysia, and to Phuket and Koh Samui in Thailand. Penang, being the second biggest hub in Malaysia after Kuala Lumpur, is a congregation point of many customer airlines and therefore the perfect touch point for new and seasoned travelers alike. From our hub, Firefly offers the quickest routes in the air within Peninsula Malaysia, as well as to some very famous tourist destinations in Thailand, aligning itself with the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMTGT) agenda.
